Taizhou makes foreign legal person application available online

Online applications for electronic business licenses have been made available for foreign legal persons in Taizhou, Jiangsu province.

According to the Electronic Business License Regulation, when a business entity applies for electronic business license for the first time, its legal person is required to complete face recognition on a special app. However, this service is not available for foreign legal persons as their biometric data is not stored in the national system. As such, their identities need to be verified at the registration authority.

One company that has benefited from this new service is Asieris Pharmaceutical Technology Co Ltd, which managed to obtain the license for a foreigner who is its legal person within just 30 minutes.

"It saved us a lot of time and cost," said a staff member.
