The maximum daily power supply of the Ordos power grid in the city of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region reached 6.08 million kW on Dec 20, surpassing 6 million kW for the first time.

This record high also marks an 8.4-percent increase compared to the same period last year.

The increase in electricity production serves as an important indicator of economic and social progress. In the first three quarters of 2023, the GDP of Ordos city reached 412.77 billion yuan ($56.54 billion), a year-on-year growth of 7 percent and ranking first in the region.

In 2023, Inner Mongolia Power Co's Ordos Power Supply Company invested 3.16 billion yuan into fixed assets, implemented a scientifically planned grid layout, improved the regional network structure, and continuously enhanced its power supply capacity and reliability.
