In recent days, the sprawling fields of green plums in Changmei community, Huanjiang Maonan autonomous county in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, have quietly burst into bloom. The flowers fill the air with a fragrant aroma, attracting flocks of admirers.
In recent years, Changmei has been focusing heavily on the plum industry. The local government is encouraging residents to cultivate and develop a unique tourism model that enables visitors to view plum blossoms in winter and pick them to brew into wine in summer.
Changmei has been driving rural vitalization by combining agriculture and tourism. Changmei is now home to over 12,000 mu (800 hectares) of green plums.
