Qingdao Port, a major port in Shandong province, opened 16 new shipping routes this year, according to official statistics released by the port earlier this month.
The port is currently connected to 223 shipping routes.
Since the beginning of this year, Qingdao has been continuously promoting the construction of ports and other infrastructure to enhance urban capacity.
Qingdao currently has 124 port berths, including 98 berths for vessels of 10,000 tons and more, and an annual throughput capacity of 387 million metric tons.
