Qingdao is set to strengthen the dominant position enterprises in scientific and technological innovation have in promoting industrial innovation, the information office of Qingdao municipal government announced on Dec 19.
Qingdao has always attached great importance to this task as it is crucial to the implementation of an innovation-driven development strategy and acceleration of the construction of an international innovative city, said government officials.
The city has launched the "Fertile Soil Plan" for the cultivation and incubation of high-tech innovative enterprises. The plan involves rolling out policies to promote the concentration of various innovation elements needed by the enterprises.
To cultivate technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises, the city's municipal science and technology bureau has recognized more than 9,000 technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises for incubator certification so far this year. This recognition comes with support in the form of innovation vouchers and other policies.
