A new high-speed railway with the designed speed of 350-kilometers per hour in Central China began construction on Tuesday, according to China State Railway Group.
The 96-km new line will link Shaoyang and Yongzhou in Hunan province. It is expected to complete the project in four years.
Upon completion, the railway will be an important part of the national railway system, improving the regional railway network and boosting high-quality development in the central region, according to the company.
