Jinan held a traditional Chinese tea culture experience event in Bath, a sister city of Jinan in the United Kingdom, on Dec 11.
During the event, international students from around the world were offered "dry-cured tea", which was processed by drying the tea leaves and baking over fire, a technique created during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and later introduced to Laiwu district, Jinan.
"When passing by after class, I smelled the aroma of tea. I am very interested in Chinese culture, but this is my first time tasting 'dry-cured tea', and being able to brew a cup of tea myself is a very meaningful experience," said a participant named Will, who also got to learn more about Jinan through the event.
Chinese tea culture has a long history, and serving tea to guests is a traditional custom in China.
