New regulations on wine trade implemented in Xiamen FTZ

Xiamen Fond Wine recently imported a shipment of red wines from Spain that feature descriptive words like "ruby" and "special reserve" on the labels, part of efforts by Xiamen Free Trade Zone to implement new regulations and promote innovative development in the trade of goods.

In June, the State Council issued several measures on advancing institutional opening-up with international high standards in conditional free trade pilot zones and free trade ports. 

Free trade pilot zones such as Fujian allow the use of descriptive words such as "chateau," "noble," "ruby," and "special reserve" on imported wine labels.

Since the issuance of the several measures, the Xiamen FTZ Administration Committee has coordinated with Xiamen Customs to provide guidance to key enterprises in the Xiamen International Wine Exchange Platform regarding the importation of wines. 

They have taken the lead in conducting pilot work and collaborated with customs and other departments to ensure effective supervision of the pilot program. They have also regulated the use of promotional words on imported wine labels, further supporting the high-end and healthy development of the domestic imported wine market.

Furthermore, it is specified that the pilot import wine enterprises should fulfill their primary responsibilities and guide the liquor industry to adhere to label promotion and ensure consistency in product branding. This will meet the upgraded consumption demands of Xiamen residents for high-quality imported wines.
