Tian'e county is the only place in Hechi to be recognized as a national exemplar in fishery safety.
Tian'e is home to 213,000 mu (14,200 hectares) of water area under independent jurisdiction and 120,000 mu (8,000 hectares) of co-managed waters, accounting for 62.83 percent of the total area of 530,000 mu (35,333 hectares) in the entire Longtan Reservoir, the largest reservoir in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. The county also has 1,770 fishing vessels registered in the national fishing vessel system, accounting for 37.52 percent of the city's total registered and operational fishing vessels.
Since 2022, Tian'e has focused on measures such as improving the fishery production safety supervision system, perfecting fishery production safety rules and regulations, setting up fishery production safety laws, and deepening fishery production safety publicity and education to promote the stability and safety of Longtan Reservoir. Thanks to these efforts, no fishery safety accidents have been recorded in the county over the past two years.
In addition, Tian'e has carried out inspections on a total of 2,110 kilometers of land and 2,800 nautical miles of water this year, and investigated and dealt with 54 various types of fishery cases.
