2023 Colorful Guizhou Cultural and Art Festival concludes in Guiyang

The 2023 Colorful Guizhou Cultural and Art Festival concluded in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Dec 21.

At the closing ceremony, a new batch of Guizhou provincial cultural and tourism integration innovation demonstration projects were awarded, with a total of 20 demonstration projects and 10 nominated demonstration projects selected.

The festival, now in its seventh year, lasted from April to December this year and featured 14 main activities, including theatrical performances, a fine arts competition, a singing competition, and a national artistic creation activity.

The Colorful Guizhou Singing Competition saw the participation of nearly 100,000 people from across the province. The Colorful Guizhou Fine Arts Competition received a total of 1,281 valid submissions, while a colorful Guizhou song collection activity received 405 valid entries.

Festive events such as the Tunpu Cultural Festival, Miao Sisters Festival, Guiyang Strawberry Music Festival, and more, saw the masses singing and dancing, engaging in interactive celebrations.

This year's festival witnessed collaborations between outstanding theater groups and the launch of over 30 high-quality theatrical performances, including The Legend of the White Snake by the Guangzhou Ballet, The Journey of a Legendary Landscape Painting by the China Oriental Performing Arts Group, and Carmen by Flamenco Theater Madrid.
