A thematic exhibition, titled Dual Olympics City, commenced at the Summer Palace on Dec 18, as part of the 14th Beijing Olympics City Sports and Cultural Festival.
Organized by the Beijing Olympic City Development Promotion Center and the Beijing Municipal Administration of Parks, the event is comprised of six distinct sections.
Each delves into the construction of world-class sports venues in Beijing, the enhancement of the city's fundamental infrastructure, its economic development, the city's increasingly seamless coordination with other regions, public fitness initiatives, and the promotion of Olympic culture.
Through a curated selection of 140 images and 72 exhibition boards, the comprehensive display showcases the valuable legacy and profound transformations brought about by Beijing 2008 and the Beijing 2022.
This presentation aims to unveil the extraordinary allure of the "Dual Olympics City" and highlight its unique qualities.
Ji Chuanpai, deputy director of the Beijing Olympic City Development Promotion Center, says that the exhibition aims to integrate Olympic culture with traditional Chinese culture, offering a profound interpretation of Beijing's Olympic heritage. It invites visitors to appreciate the picturesque landscapes of the Summer Palace, immerse themselves in its rich cultural heritage, and gain a deeper understanding of the remarkable achievements of the dual Olympics city.
"This experience is designed to fortify their spiritual resilience for the challenges of the new era," he adds.
