The total import and export value of goods in North China's Shanxi province from January to November reached 154.66 billion yuan ($21.67 billion), with imports increasing 0.6 percent year-on-year to 58.73 billion yuan.
Driven by significant increases in the import of various metal ores, ferroalloys, and coal products, Shanxi saw a monthly record of 17.33 billion yuan in foreign trade value last month.
Over the past 11 months, the province's imports and exports with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative hit 65.58 billion yuan, up 5.9 percent year-on-year and accounting for 42.4 percent of the total foreign trade value.
Its imports and exports with RCEP member countries reached 47.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 9.4 percent, accounting for 30.7 percent of the total foreign trade value.
