A groundbreaking ceremony for Leacent Technology's heterojunction solar cell project was held in Tongzhou district, Nantong, Jiangsu province on Dec 13.
This project marks a significant milestone in Tongzhou's venture into the cutting-edge field of heterojunction technology within the solar industry, with a total investment of approximately 7 billion yuan ($980.71 million).
From inception to the start of construction, the Leacent Technology project took just six months to materialize. Upon completion, it is poised not only to catalyze the formation of a complete heterojunction industrial chain in Tongzhou but also to further bolster the district's new energy industry by strengthening its links and extensions.
To date, Tongzhou has already attracted nearly 20 major projects along the industrial chain, with a total investment exceeding 10 billion yuan. The Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone within the district, in particular, has played a crucial role in hosting key projects related to material development, equipment manufacturing, and component production.
Apart from the Leacent Technology project, the groundbreaking ceremony also featured 14 additional projects related to strategic emerging industries, advanced manufacturing, and modern services, providing a significant boost to regional development.
