The GRGTEST East China Measurement and Testing Base opened on Dec 12 in Wuxi National Hi-tech District, Wuxi, Jiangsu province.
This base, which is also the headquarters of GRGTEST, a State-owned third-party measurement and testing institution, represents a total investment of 500 million yuan ($69.75 million). Focusing on emerging industries such as semiconductors, new energy vehicles, high-end equipment, new materials, biopharmaceuticals, and medical devices in the Yangtze River Delta region, the base aims to deepen research in inspection and testing technologies, with an expected output value of 1.5 billion yuan.

During the opening ceremony, GRGTEST partnered with Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) and Beihang University to establish a large aircraft reliability joint laboratory.
Yan Chuliang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a professor at Beihang University, said the new base will provide robust support for improving the reliability and quality of China's civil aviation industry across the entire value chain.
A sci-tech innovation festival, with a focus on increasing reliability in the large aircraft industry, opened that same day. Over the course of the two-day event, more than 200 aviation experts, scholars, executives, and researchers engaged in in-depth discussions on hot topics such as enhancing the quality and reliability of airborne products and promoting the localization of aviation products in China.
