Rajendra Shende, the Nobel Peace Prize laureate, received a special gift – a paper-cut from Kecheng district, Quzhou, Zhejiang province at the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (or COP28), which was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from Nov 30 to Dec 12.
The gift was brought by Xue Guangling, a representative of China's Go chess community at the conference. Xue has been playing a proactive role in promoting the application of Go chess intelligence in addressing climate challenges.
Xue also gave paper-cutting artworks to other representatives of all parties to the conference, as well as overseas Chinese children and Arabian children, to give people a better understanding of Chinese culture.
Xue added that these artworks were all created by people with disabilities. Shende was surprised upon hearing this and wished luck to these strong-minded people.
