Zheng spoke about Yantai's commitment to green production and its goal of building a world-class ecological city. He noted that the city has made significant progress in establishing an economic system that prioritizes green, low carbon, and circular development.
One example of this progress is Changdao, an island under the jurisdiction of Yantai that is now undertaking efforts to become zero carbon. To achieve this, the island has undertaken various measures such as dismantling wind power facilities, implementing waste classification, and using clean energy to generate heat.
Zheng said he hopes Yantai's practices can serve as valuable examples for other cities and regions to emulate.
