The coastal city of Qingdao in East China's Shandong province recently issued the Implementation Plan for the Construction of a Child-Friendly City in Qingdao, aiming to create a better development environment for children and comprehensively promote the construction of a child-friendly city.
The plan will accelerate the construction of a child-friendly city in Qingdao, promote the healthy growth of children in the city, and integrate the high-quality development of children's cause into the overall economic and social development.
The plan clarifies the fundamental principles and main goals for building Qingdao into a child-friendly city. By 2025, the city's child-friendly policy system will be further improved, the development space for children will be further expanded, and children's sense of gain, happiness, and security will be significantly enhanced. It aims to build a child-friendly city, a happy and beautiful home with Qingdao characteristics. By 2035, children's rights and interests will be fully protected, and children will enjoy a better life. The city will become a leading and distinctive model city for child-friendly cities in the country.

The city has proposed 34 key tasks, including building a long-term mechanism for child-friendly cities, achieving friendly social policies, optimizing the allocation of child-friendly resources and achieving friendly public services, improving the universal welfare system for children and promoting rights protection, and enhancing urban quality and service efficiency and achieving friendly growth space, as well as creating a healthy environment for children's growth.
In recent years, Qingdao city has adhered to the concept of prioritizing children's development, integrated the concept of child-friendly cities into urban development goals, and made efforts to give the greatest happiness to children in the city. The construction of child-friendly cities has gained great momentum. The sense of happiness, security, and gain of children has continued to increase. In April of this year, the city was successfully selected into the second batch of national child-friendly cities.
