Jinan delegation visits Ethiopia, Equatorial Guinea

Liu Qiang, Party secretary of Jinan, led a delegation to visit Ethiopia and Equatorial Guinea from Dec 1 to 6.

During the visit, the delegation held in-depth exchanges with representatives from the governments, enterprises, and Chinese institutions in the two countries. They also visited businesses to learn about their operations and expand cooperation in various fields.

During the trip, Liu shared about the development of Shandong province and Jinan, and reached a consensus with various parties on further enhancing communication, strengthening connectivity, building cooperation mechanisms, and enhancing cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, culture, education, and agriculture.

The delegation then visited the flagship project of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), the Lebu Railway Station of the Addis Ababa-Djibouti Railway, as well as Shandong-invested companies in Africa such as China National Heavy Duty Truck Group Co, also known as Sinotruk.

The delegation also organized a symposium for Jinan and Shandong companies in Ethiopia to learn more about the development of Shandong enterprises that are looking to go global.

The delegation also visited the Chinese Embassy in the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Chinese Embassy in the Republic of Equatorial Guinea to exchange views on friendly exchanges and industrial cooperation with African countries.
