One month after its operation, the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway, the only high-speed rail in Southeast Asia that runs at 350 km/h and has cut travel time between the two major Indonesian cities to just 40 minutes, has garnered widespread attraction in the country.
Passengers gathered at the Halim Station in Jakarta to pose with the locomotive for pictures. One of them is Chen Xianmou, a Chinese Indonesian. Speaking highly of the railway, Chen said the project has made Indonesia stand out in Southeast Asia.
Speaking fluent Mandarin, Chen also talked about his study experience in China.
