Liu Qiang, Party secretary of Jinan, led a delegation to Singapore from Nov 27 to 30 to strengthen exchanges and cooperation, enhance friendly relations, and promote the city.
During the visit, Liu held discussions with Chee Hong Tat, Acting Minister of the Ministry of Transport and Senior Minister of State for Finance of Singapore, and Kho Choon Keng, president of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce, as well as senior officials of Singaporean institutions and enterprises including Keppel Corporation, Revvity, and Nanyang Technological University.
Liu and the delegation also visited local enterprises to introduce the cooperative areas of the Jinan Start-up Area for Growth Drivers Transformation and deepen cooperation in green ecology, smart city, biomedicine, technological innovation, and talent exchange. Both sides reached a consensus on promoting the implementation of cooperative projects.
The Jinan (Singapore) High-quality Development City Promotion Conference was also held in Singapore to introduce the Chinese city's development advantages and opportunities.
The delegation also visited the Chinese Embassy in Singapore to discuss ways to deepen friendly exchanges, industrial cooperation, and provide insights into the cooperation between Shandong province, Jinan, and Singapore.
