Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, held a signing ceremony for key investment projects and a groundbreaking ceremony for key projects in the fourth quarter of 2023 on Nov 24.
On the day, 13 projects were signed on-site, with a total investment of 50.67 billion yuan ($7.13 billion), and 69 projects broke ground, with a total investment of 45.73 billion yuan and an annual investment of 5.79 billion yuan.
Among the 13 signed projects, six are related to advanced manufacturing, three are foreign-funded projects, and four are central-local cooperation projects.
Among the 69 projects that commenced construction, 30 are involved in advanced manufacturing and innovation capacity improvement, nine are related to the service industry, two are cultural tourism projects, 15 are urban construction and infrastructure projects, and 13 are about ecological, environmental protection, and social livelihood.
These projects will significantly promote the development and efficiency improvement of the city's industries and effectively drive regional economic and industrial development.
As of the end of October, 665 key projects at the municipal level had been under construction, with a completed investment of 457.07 billion yuan, reaching 92.08 percent of the annual plan and exceeding the schedule by 8.75 percentage points.
