Ordos releases upgraded policies to attract global talent

The city of Ordos held a press conference in Beijing on Nov 23, aiming to attract talent from home and abroad.

During the conference, Ordos released "Several Measures on Implementing a More Proactive, Open, and Effective Talent Policy to Build a First-Class Talent Highland," introducing 30 policy initiatives in areas such as talent introduction, talent cultivation and related incentives.

The upgraded policies have been in effect since Nov 17, 2023; and the "Ordos City High-Level Innovative Talent Catalog," which covers six major categories of high-level talents, was also released along with the policies.

Under the new policy, top talents who are recruited on a full-time basis will be provided with a settling-in allowance of no less than 3 million yuan ($410,958.9), up to 100 million yuan in laboratory platform construction and research funding, as well as annual research team building support of up to 10 million yuan throughout their contract period.

For outstanding talents who are recruited on a full-time basis, local authorities will offer a settling-in allowance of up to 3 million yuan, a research budget of up to 50 million yuan, and a salary package of up to 2 million yuan.
