From January to October, North China's Shanxi province attracted foreign investment amounting to $950 million, showing a remarkable growth rate of 41 percent year-on-year.
The province's secondary industry experienced the highest increase in foreign investment, recording year-on-year growth of 49.05 percent. Major contributors in this sector were the industries of electricity, gas, and water production and supply.
Meanwhile, the tertiary industry saw foreign investment grow by 2.63 percent, with notable increases in transportation, warehousing, postal services, as well as scientific research and technical services.
Among the main sources of foreign investment in Shanxi were the British Virgin Islands, the United States, the Cayman Islands, and Australia.
