Jun ware, one of the five famous kilns of the Song Dynasty (960-1279), garnered favor from Emperor Huizong (r. 1100-26). A large number of Jun ware flowerpots were manufactured for imperial court use.
This flowerpot stand in a six-lobed flower shape is a good example. Its overall glaze is bluish grey. The glaze surface features crackle and worm-like patterns. The edges exhibit a soybean brown hue.
As a permanent collection of the Shaanxi History Museum, the flowerpot stand embodies a dignified design, seamlessly integrating practicality with aesthetic appeal.
