The Shuozhuan 220 kV power line in Anyang, Henan province was successfully put into operation late last month, which marked the completion of the first phase of the 300 MW wind-storage integrated rural revitalization demonstration project in Neihuang county, Anyang, and its successful connection to the grid through the Diku and Zhuanxu substations in Anyang.
The project also synchronized the construction and operation of a 100 MW/200 MWh energy storage power station, making it the largest wind-storage integrated power generation project in Henan province in terms of scale and the highest proportion of new energy generation and storage.
The Neihuang County 300 MW wind-storage integrated rural revitalization demonstration project is equipped with 40 sets of 2.75 MW/5.5 MWh energy storage units, using advanced intelligent string storage solutions. The project was developed by China Resources New Energy (Neihuang) Co., Ltd., with participation from companies including Huawei Digital Energy Technology Co., Ltd. and State Grid Anyang Power Supply Co., Ltd.
This project sets a model for large-scale wind-storage integration open scenarios, exploring a feasible path for the large-scale application of wind and other renewable energy combinations, according to Huawei.
Anyang, located in the southern part of the North China Plain, has favorable new energy resources such as wind and solar. Up to now, the total installed capacity of wind and solar energy generation in Anyang has reached 5.47 million kW, accounting for 65.8 percent of the total installed capacity of power generation in the area, ranking the top in the province in terms of scale.
However, the electricity consumption and peak adjustment of new energy power faces certain challenges. The vigorous development of storage projects and the promotion of coordinated development of generation, grid, load, and storage are of great significance for load peaking and valley filling in Anyang, as well as promoting the balanced absorption of local renewable energy generation, which can ensure the safe and stable operation of the power grid and increase the proportion of clean energy consumption at the end, contributing to achieving the "dual-carbon" goals.
It is understood that after the Neihuang 100 MW/200 MWh energy storage power station is connected to the grid, it will officially start production after more than a month of debugging.
It is expected to increase the consumption of new energy electricity by 70 million kWh per year, which is equivalent to a reduction of 53,200 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually. It will play an active role in ensuring people's electricity consumption, achieving a high proportion of new energy mixture, serving the local economic development, and transforming the energy structure.
As a close collaborator of the Neihuang County 300 MW wind-storage integrated rural revitalization demonstration project, State Grid Anyang Power Supply Co has been involved in the project since the end of last year.
According to the expected grid connection time of the project, the company has implemented a reverse schedule approach and making preparations in advance for six stages including the access plan, drawing review, on-site construction, and other tasks. At the same time, a dedicated project client manager was assigned to provide real-time answers to questions and coordinate the review of plans, project acceptance, grid connection debugging, and other specific issues that may arise throughout the whole process, ensuring the smooth development of the project.
