The first China-Europe freight train (Pridacha-Xi'an) forimported Russianrapeseed oil arrived at Xi'an International Port Station in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, on Nov 18.
Loaded with 2,290 metric tons of non-genetically modified rapeseed oil imported from Russia by Xi'an Tourism Group Huqun Company, the train departed from the Russian region of Lipetsk and passed through the Manzhouli Port in Inner Mongolia autonomous region for transshipment before reaching Xi'an International Port Station.
The train consisted of a total of 108 containers carrying goods worth more than 20 million yuan ($2.8 million).
To ensure the smooth operation of the train, China Railway Xi'an Group Co coordinated with the Xi'an International Trade and Logistics Park and related companies and departments, optimizing the operation process for imports and exports.
There will be three more dedicated freight trains for imported Russian rapeseed oil. This year, Xi'an Tourism Group will reach a milestone of having imported approximately 10,000 tons of non-genetically modified Russian rapeseed oil, ensuring ample supply in the grain and oil market.
Since the beginning of this year, China Railway Xi'an Group Co has continuously increased the frequency of freight train services.
As of the end of October, the China-Europe freight train (Xi'an) had made a total of 4,343 trips, an increase of 22.1 percent compared to the same period last year, and transported 3.84 million tons of goods, a 19.9-percent increase year-on-year.
