This year, Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport's international cargo transportation has seen breakthrough development.
According to official data, from January to October, the airport's international cargo and mail throughput reached 104,000 metric tons, an increase of 26 percentage points compared to last year. International express delivery and cross-border e-commerce goods reached 28,400 tons, a year-on-year increase of 165.5 percent.
Local authorities said that the Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport has taken full advantage of its core competitiveness in cargo transportation infrastructure and implemented comprehensive measures to stimulate market vitality.
The airport has actively integrated cargo facility resources and explored new models of cargo palletizing and handling. The innovative use of the cross-border digital customs clearance public service platform has also improved customs clearance.
The airport has also strengthened cooperation and continued to promote the expansion of international cargo transportation business. In order to build an international aviation cargo hub network for Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport, the airport has increased cooperation with airlines and charter operators and has successively opened or restored four international cargo routes to New York, Toronto, Liege, and Frankfurt. So far, Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport has operated a total of 18 cargo routes, including 11 international cargo routes to Europe, America, Asia, and Australia, further promoting international logistics transportation and trade exchanges.
