Baogang Group's rail beam plant has been actively serving the construction of the Belt and Road, with its steel rails being used in the China-Laos Railway and the Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway.
Established in 1958 and officially put into production in January 1969, the rail beam plant has relied on technological innovation and its global perspective to promote diversified international cooperation.
In September 2006, the plant rebuilt its No 1 medium universal rolling production line while in January 2013 it overhauled its No 2 large universal rolling production line.
The plant is capable of producing a series of steel rails, switch rails, and crane rails for both domestic and international railways.
These products are widely used in various industries, including railway, bridge, port, and locomotive manufacturing, and have been sold to 15 countries and regions, such as the United States, Canada, Brazil, Indonesia, and South Korea.
Since the proposal of the Belt and Road Initiative in 2013, Baogang Group has exported more than 13 million metric tons of steel to the participating countries and regions, accounting for over 90 percent of its total exports, and growing the number of its export countries from 22 to 60.
"In addition to producing high-quality products, we also focus on market promotion and expanding our marketing and service network," said Wu Xiangdong, deputy general manager of Baogang Group International Economic and Trade Co.
