At the recent 22nd Asian Masters Athletics Championships held in the Philippines, Zou Pengde, a veteran from Rugao, Nantong, Jiangsu province, participated in the event as a member of the Chinese delegation.
In the men's 65-year-old age group high jump competition, Zou fought hard to win gold for the Chinese team.
Zou was a student at the Shanghai University of Sport and is now president of the Rugao Long-distance Running Association. He has always loved sports and has been exercising for many years.
"This is the fifth time I have participated in the Asian Masters Athletics Championships. As long as my body allows it, I will not miss any sports competition," said Zou.
The 22nd Asian Masters Athletics Championships were held from Nov 8 to 22 in Clark, Luzon Island, Philippines. More than 1,500 professional, retired and amateur athletes from 22 countries and regions in Asia competed in the event. The Chinese team sent 61 athletes and won 42 gold, 32 silver and 26 bronze medals.
