Wuhan Initiative bolsters industrial internet development

The 2023 China 5G+Industrial Internet Conference was held on Nov 19-21 in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC) in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province.

At the conference, academicians, experts, and entrepreneurs focused on emerging areas such as new infrastructure, industrial transformation and upgrading, integrated applications, and technological innovation.

They discussed practical ways of promoting the integration and innovative development of 5G+industrial internet.

Breakthroughs and extensive applications in the new generation of intelligent manufacturing will serve the climax of the latest industrial revolution, reshaping the technological system, production mode, and industrial ecosystem of the manufacturing industry, to fully realize the benefits of the fourth industrial revolution.

The conference released the "Wuhan Initiative", calling on all participating members and organizations to regularly hold exchange activities, strengthen their industrial coordination, and share their experiences of development to jointly promote a new kind of industrialization.

The initiative proposes that developing a robust digital economy and industrial informatization is a crucial strategy to reestablish China as a manufacturing powerhouse.

It is necessary to plan and develop a number of industries with broad development prospects in cutting-edge technological fields such as brain-like intelligence, quantum information, and future networks.

It is also essential to explore the application of digital workshops, intelligent factories, and smart supply chains, and practice the new development concepts of innovation, coordination, greenness, openness, and sharing.

The conference released key research results, such as the National 5G+ Industrial Internet Development Index and the Chinese City Digital Economy Development Research Report for 2023.

During the conference, an exhibition of innovative achievements was also held, providing audience members with visual, scenario-based, immersive, and interactive experiences.
