Global forum on clinical research, innovative drugs held in WND

The Global Clinical Research and Leading Talents for Innovative Drug Forum took place in the Wuxi New District on Nov 14, delving into recent trends in clinical research and new drug development, as well as the cultivation of leading talent in the pharmaceutical industry.

The NEJM High-impact Clinical Trials Certification Program, jointly developed by the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) and NEJM Frontiers in Medicine, was launched during the forum. This program is dedicated to nurturing top-notch researchers capable of designing and conducting high-impact clinical trials.

Eric J. Rubin, editor-in-chief of NEJM and a professor at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, said in his address that Wuxi has been vigorously promoting the development of the biopharmaceutical industry and that the city is a leader in the field, providing a solid foundation for clinical research and the development of new drugs.

The introduction of the NEJM program is expected to further boost the development of the biopharmaceutical industry in China, Rubin added.

On the same day, the Global Leading Talent Program for Innovative Drug Discovery and Development was launched by the College of Future Technology of Peking University.

In addition to the main summit, the forum featured specialized sessions, including one focusing on the globalization of pharmaceutical enterprises. These sessions provided insight into the challenges and opportunities faced by pharmaceutical companies in the evolving global landscape.
