GE Healthcare's latest innovation center in China was officially unveiled on Nov 16.
Located in Zhangjiang, Pudong New Area, Shanghai, this new innovation center will focus on digital medical technology and application innovation and help drive the company's research and development efforts in China. It will also serve as an incubation platform for specialized and novel businesses, and for accelerating the transformation of digital medical achievements.
Occupying 4,000 square meters, the Shanghai innovation center is staffed by 100 R&D experts.
GE Healthcare had previously opened two other innovation centers in Beijing and Wuxi to respond to the increasing need to shorten the distance between frontier technology and patient services.
Each innovation center has a unique focus and leverages its own strengths to create incubation platforms targeting the supply chain, imaging chain, and digital chain.
As the first innovative platform of GE Healthcare in China focusing on digital medicine, the Shanghai innovation center is the most comprehensive innovation entity among the three innovation centers. It also has the largest scale and the most comprehensive functions.
The Shanghai innovation center will empower the 1,800 R&D engineers of GE Healthcare in China and work with ecosystem partners to explore the application of cutting-edge digital technology and integrated diagnosis and treatment solutions.
