The ninth National Governance Forum was held in Beijing on Thursday, focusing on the high-quality development of State-owned assets and State-owned enterprises.
Led by People's Daily and supported by think tanks from a wide range of organizations such as the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council and the Renmin University of China, the forum featured in-depth discussions through keynote speeches, summit dialogues and parallel forums, providing crucial intellectual support and decision-making references to further propel the high-quality development of SOEs.
In an assembly of notable representatives from political, business, academic and research sectors, Wang Yong, vice-chairman of the 14th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee, delivered a speech at the forum's opening ceremony.
Identifying high-quality development as a top priority for State-owned assets and State-owned enterprises, Wang emphasized the advancement of technological innovation and industrial transformation and upgrading, further implementation of reforms and the path of internationalized development, through adhering to decisions and deployments of the central government's important instructions.
Tuo Zhen, publisher of People's Daily, Fang Jiangshan, deputy editor-in-chief of People's Daily, Wang Hongzhi, vice-chairman of SASAC and Zhang Donggang, Party secretary of the Renmin University of China, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.
