By the lake in a park in Hanjiang district, Yangzhou emerges a uniquely-designed and popular book house— Yishu Light Zhuxi City Library. This architectural gem, inspired by an ink painting by Gao Fenghan, an artist who belonged to the Yangzhou school of painters, stands as a testament to the city's rich literary tradition.
Since its opening in December 2019, this city library has become a beacon, drawing locals and tourists alike to its warm embrace. Crafted by Italian architects, its exterior, resembling undulating mountains, mirrors the poetic ink-washed landscapes of Gao's painting.
