The 2023 Promotion Conference for Investment Opportunities & Industrial Development Space in Xi'an took place on Nov 16 in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, during the ongoing 7thSilk Road International Exposition on Nov 16-20.
Hosted by the Xi'an municipal people's government and the China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment (CAEFI), the conference was organized by the Xi'an municipal bureau of investment cooperation and the Xi'an municipal bureau of natural resources and planning.
Multinational companies such as ZF Friedrichshafen AG, Bayer Healthcare Co, Air Products and Chemicals Inc, and Liebherr attended the conference.
At the conference, Lyu Laisheng, member of the standing committee of the CPC Xi'an Municipal Committee and executive deputy mayor of Xi'an, said that, as the national central city under construction, Xi'an is in a period of enhancing its comprehensive strength. It is a fertile land for investment and development.
"More than 200 Fortune Global 500 companies have invested in Xi'an. The proportion of the industrial output value of foreign-funded enterprises in Xi'an exceeds one-fifth of the city's total industrial output value," said Cao Hongying, executive vice president of the CAEFI.
The unveiling ceremony of the Silk Road Development Branch of the CAEFI was also held as scheduled at the conference.
It is the second regional branch of the CAEFI, covering 11 provinces and municipalities, including Henan, Shanxi, Chongqing, Sichuan, Guizhou, and Yunnan.
Establishing the branch will further improve the business environment in Central and West China, and promote the opening-up and utilization of foreign investment under the new situation.
