Conference in Xi'an facilitates collaboration for Chinese, overseas businesses

The 9th International Chamber of Commerce for Trade & Investment Conference took place in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, on Nov 15.

Co-hosted by the Xi'an Sub-council of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the Xi'an municipal bureau of investment cooperation, the conference played a crucial role in the 7th Silk Road International Exposition and the Investment and Trade Forum for Cooperation between East & West China taking place in the city from Nov 16-20.

The conference aimed to strengthen the exchanges between Xi'an and countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in the areas of trade and investment. It sought to promote the transformation and upgrading of industries in Xi'an while providing an international platform for in-depth cooperation between Chinese and overseas companies.

At the conference, the Xi'an Sub-council of the CCPIT signed memorandums of cooperation with seven overseas chambers of commerce and companies, such as the Mexican Chamber of Commerce in China and the Iran-China Chamber of Commerce and Industries.

Xi'an-based companies including CRRC Yongji Electric Co, China Energy Engineering Group Shaanxi Electric Power Design Institute Co, and Shaanxi Construction Machinery Co, conducted promotional activities, showcasing their capabilities to overseas chambers of commerce and companies.

The event also featured the release of a list comprising 170 overseas investment cooperation projects, reflecting the promising prospects of Xi'an for international cooperation.

These cooperation projects span various fields, including industry, agriculture, healthcare, and tourism in countries involved in the BRI, such as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan.
