The Classic of Mountains and Seas is a compilation of myths and serves as a geographic exploration of our Chinese ancestors, capturing their romantic imagination and vision of the world.
This cultural and spiritual legacy has inspired 19 contemporary Chinese artists born between the 1950s and the 1990s to create more than 70 innovative artworks, which are now on display at an exhibition unveiled on Nov 10 at the Nanchizi Museum in Beijing.
