To accelerate the organization of the 2025 Asian Winter Games, the single competition sub-committees for the Asian Winter Games Harbin were officially established at a meeting held in Harbin, the capital city of China's northernmost Heilongjiang province, on Nov 14.
At the meeting, officials provided an overview of the preparations for the sporting showcase and outlined the near-term tasks for each of the sub-committees.
The sub-committees play a vital role in undertaking these crucial tasks.
They include refining competition requirements, coordinating venues, organizing and training referee teams, communicating with international project managers, and maintaining close contact with the Winter Sports Center of the General Administration of Sports of China and various sports associations.
The work of the sub-committees will determine the quality of the competitions for future test events and official matches.
They will also promote the progress of the preparations for the upcoming competitions and ensure high-quality services are provided during the event.
"In the future, all members of the sub-committees will draw on and implement the spirit and experience of organizing the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics in their practical work." said Meng Shu, a representative of the group of sub-committees.
"We will spare no effort to host a spectacular sports event showcasing the elegance of Asia, the grandeur of China, the unique characteristics of Heilongjiang, and the charm of Harbin," Meng added.
