The Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced the third batch of national-level tourism leisure block names on Nov 1 and the Naobao Tourism Leisure Block – located in the Xincheng district of Hohhot, capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – made it onto the list.
The block features the picturesque landscape of the Jiangnan water towns, blending Chinese Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) classical architecture with European-style buildings.
It's a cultural tourism area known for its sightseeing, leisure and countryside delicacies.
In November 2023, it was listed as part of the third batch of national-level tourism leisure blocks.
