An industrial cooperation exchange conference between North China's Shanxi province and foreign enterprises was held in Shanghai on Nov 7.
The event, hosted by the Shanxi Investment Promotion Bureau and organized by the European American Chamber of Commerce & Industry, aimed to promote Shanxi's industrial chains and professional industrial towns with local industrial characteristics.
It also enhanced the province's utilization of foreign investment and international cooperation using the platform provided by the ongoing 6th China International Import Expo.
The conference attracted diplomatic agencies and businesses from more than 10 countries including Sri Lanka, Romania, and Mexico that are engaged in green energy, construction projects as well as the new materials, agricultural products, and equipment manufacturing sectors.
During the event, representatives from local government departments in Shanxi, municipal investment promotion departments, and development zones in the province introduced Shanxi's key industrial developments, policies related to foreign investment, and also its business environment.
Local enterprises from Shanxi shared their experiences with foreign business representatives, while overseas guests exchanged views on investment directions.
Yang Chunquan, director of the Shanxi Investment Promotion Bureau, said that in recent years, Shanxi has shown advantages in terms of its flourishing open economy, with the annual foreign trade value now exceeding 200 billion yuan ($27.49 billion) and the business environment for foreign investors showing great improvement.
He invited foreign participants to seize the opportunities offered by Shanxi, and contribute to the province's high-quality economic growth.
