In 2023, the city of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region successfully cultivated grain crops on 5.30 million mu (353,333.33 hectares) of land, exceeding the target of 8.25 percent previously set by the autonomous region.
Based on the yield estimation provided by the agricultural technology department and harvest reports from various regions, the city's primary crops have generally achieved higher yields this year, and are of a better quality than the crops produced in previous years.

Annual grain production is forecast to exceed 2.13 billion kg, which would make this the 20th straight year of a bumper harvest in Ordos.
As of now, 90 percent of the city's grain crops have been harvested. All wheat and potato crops have been collected, and more than 80 percent of the corn has been picked.
The autumn harvest of grain crops in the city is anticipated to conclude by early November.
