First China-EU center on vaccine cooperation to be set up in Wuxi

The first China-Europe Union center for vaccine R&D and industrial cooperation will be set up in Wuxi New District in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province.

An agreement was signed on Nov 3 during EU-China Vaccine Collaboration Forum in WND.

The center is to be established by the Wuxi municipal bureau of science and technology, the management committee of WND, European Vaccine Initiative, and the EU Project Innovation Center.

The center, with WND as its cooperation base, will work with Wuxi to create a new paradigm for the development of the international life and health industry.

It will assist companies, universities and science and technology parks in EU countries and China in conducting exchanges and cooperation in the fields of vaccine research, technology transfer, project incubation, and industrial investment, becoming an important gateway for cooperation in vaccine technology between EU countries and China.

WND is an important biopharmaceutical industry hub and innovation center in China. The scale of the district's biopharmaceutical industry is about to exceed 100 billion yuan ($13.72 billion), and it is among the top 20 national biopharmaceutical industrial parks in terms of competitiveness.
