An intangible cultural heritage exhibition is underway at the Louvre Museum in Paris, France, from Nov 2 to 5, and the Yao Jianping Embroidery Art Museum in Suzhou New District, East China's Jiangsu province, was invited to attend.

The most anticipated exhibit from the Suzhou embroidery museum is the craftwork titled Mona Lisa, which recreates the world-renowned painting of the same name collected by the Louvre Museum.

The embroidery work Mona Lisa blends the lines, structure, color, and shade employed by the oil painting, photography, sculpture, traditional Chinese painting, and calligraphy into the ancient Chinese craft and it is also one of the representatives of Yao's portrature works.

Yao's Su embroidery sofas are making their debut at the exhibition. The series features a black background with graceful magpies on both sides of the sofa. Black and golden hues add some elegant refinements to the art piece.

The fashionable side of Su embroidery is also highlighted at the exhibition. The exhibits Beautiful Watches were inspired by the intricate caisson patterns from Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes.

Yao is honored as Chinese arts and crafts master by the China Light Industry Council and many of her works have been given to international friends as a "national gift" and collected by internationally famous buildings such as the Great Hall of the People in Beijing and Buckingham Palace in London.
