The 5th World New Energy Vehicle Conference will be held in Haikou, Hainan province, from Dec 7 to 9, the Chinese Association of Science and Technology announced on Tuesday.
Zhang Xuming, secretary-general of the China Society of Automotive Engineers, said the conference will focus on hot topics such as the market, technology, and policy coordination under the vision of achieving carbon neutrality.
During the conference, awards will be given in the new energy vehicle field and for innovative technology. Over 40 contenders have been chosen for the technology section and are currently in the final evaluation stage. The results will be announced during the conference.
Zhang said the conference will discuss how to formulate development goals and strategies that are in line with the current situation of the automotive industry. It will also look at ways to promote marketing of new energy vehicles and cooperation between governments, and the automotive and energy industries.
Chinese and foreign government departments, international organizations, and automobile manufacturers will also be invited to take part in closed-door talks to discuss the sustainable development of the NEV industry.
Over 60 companies are expected to participate in an exhibition on the sidelines of the conference, with an estimated exhibition area of 13,000 square meters.
The exhibition will showcase products relating to NEVs, hydrogen fuel cells, automotive electronic chips and other items.
The conference will also stage its first open day to allow the public to gain a better understanding of new energy vehicles and the industry.
