Over 300 domestic and overseas guests gathered in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, to participate in the Silk Road (Xi'an) International Communication Forum on Oct 25.
The two-day forum is titled "Promote Cultural Inheritance and Development via High-quality International Communication".
At the forum, Zhao Yide, Party secretary of Shaanxi province, said that Shaanxi is the starting point of the ancient Silk Road and is deeply integrating into the grand blueprint of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) to write a new chapter in Shaanxi's Chinese-style modernization.
It is hoped that Chinese and overseas media will promote Shaanxi and advance its exchanges and cooperation with various parts of the world in the fields of science, technology, economy, trade, and culture, Zhao added.
Fu Hong, president of Xinhua News Agency, also delivered a speech on the new agency's commitment to sharing BRI stories with the world.
In addition to the main forum, a series of activities will be held, including dialogues, sub-forums, and cultural activities, showcasing China's image effectively.
