Jiangsu Tianhua Automotive Electronic Technology Co in the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA) in East China's Jiangsu province launched its R&D center on Oct 20.
The facility will be focused on providing first-class design and development services for new energy vehicle electronics, in-car displays, and intelligent cockpit integration solutions, according to local media reports.
Bao Delin, director of the NETDA administrative committee, said at the inauguration ceremony that the center will play a positive role in bolstering the area's automotive electronics industry and new-generation information technology sector.
Bao expressed hope that Tianhua will channel more resources into building the center into a world-class automotive electronics research and development base.
Established in 2022, Tianhua was funded by Shenzhen-based Tianma Microelectronic Co and Beijing-based HAXC Group, both of which are leading automotive intelligent cockpit electronic integrated service providers. They have invested 100 million yuan ($13.68 million) to build the company.
Tianhua has 300 researchers and is expected to generate annual sales of 2 billion yuan.
