The inclusion of Jinan in the new batch of 12 national bases for international cultural trade was announced during a conference about the construction of national bases for international cultural trade in Jiangxi province on Oct 19.
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Ministry of Commerce launched a new batch of applications for national cultural trade bases in July 2022 with the aim of cultivating a group of market entities with international influence and competitiveness.
Jinan has since been accelerating its transformation into a national foreign cultural trade base by establishing centers for brand construction, exhibition display, research and development innovation, and full-chain trade in services, as well as functional institutions for cross-border e-commerce, corridors for culture to go global, and key brand laboratories.
Jinan has also built a comprehensive service system which integrates cultural IP excavation, creative design, brand incubation, product manufacturing, cross-language services, supply chain support, and overseas promotion. The system has been included as one of the key projects for international cooperation in the cultural and tourism industries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 2021.
The Jinan base currently has 14 overseas cultural trade centers and warehouses in countries such as Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States. It has established cooperative relationships with 67 well-known overseas companies and serves more than 500 cultural trade enterprises in the Yellow River Basin.
