Hefei high-tech zone to build global biomedical R&D center

BIOHIT Healthcare (Hefei) Co Ltd started construction of the second phase of their project in the Hefei National High-Tech Industry Zone, or Hefei high-tech zone, in Hefei, capital of East China's Anhui province on Oct 17.

Costing 2 billion yuan ($273.51 million) to build, the project will serve as a global research and development center and a headquarters production base.

Once completed, the project will produce 2 billion test kits and 20,000 instruments worth over 10 billion yuan annually.

The project is expected to create 2,000 job opportunities and contribute more than 500 million yuan in tax revenue.

The Hefei high-tech zone has in recent years been actively promoting the development of the biopharmaceutical industry. The district has introduced specialized policies to accelerate the industry's growth through development and coordination.
