To promote Jinan's integration with Belt and Road cooperation efforts, Sun Shihui, deputy director-general of the Publicity Department of the CPC Jinan Municipal Committee, led a delegation to visit Uzbekistan this month.
During the visit, the delegation held talks with deputy general manager of UZ Truck and Bus Motors (UZTBM), regarding cooperation between the company and China National Heavy Duty Truck Group, or Sinotruk. The delegation also visited the factory of UZTBM.
During the visit, the delegation presented Jinan's intangible cultural heritage (ICH) products, including Jinan shadow puppetry and Jinan paper-cutting, as gifts to promote cultural exchange and cooperation between the two sides.
Sinotruk has in recent years been seizing the opportunities created by the Belt and Road Initiative to consolidate and expand its traditional trade export advantages. This has resulted in the company making breakthroughs in international capacity cooperation.
On Jan 17, 2020, Sinotruk established the joint venture company UZTBM through capital increase and share expansion in Uzbekistan. The joint venture now has an annual production of 3,000 units and is a production base for commercial vehicles for Sinotruk in Uzbekistan and neighboring countries in Central Asia.
