Siemens Healthineers expands core equipment production in WND

A signing ceremony for the high-end CT core components project of Siemens Healthineers, a German healthcare technology company, was held in Wuxi National Hi-tech District, also known as Wuxi New District (WND), on Oct 17.

The project is expected to ramp up research and development efforts for core components used in high-end CT scanners, particularly X-ray tubes and high-voltage generators. It will also introduce high-end medical products for localization, thereby diversifying the product portfolio and meeting the growing market demand for more efficient CT scanning and high-quality digital imaging.

The signing ceremony coincided with the 20th-anniversary celebration of Siemens X-ray Vacuum Technology (Wuxi) Co Ltd, which is the sole X-ray tube and component production base of Siemens Healthineers outside Germany.

Elisabeth Staudinger, a member of the Siemens Healthineers managing board, said the Siemens X-ray Vacuum Technology (Wuxi) Co Ltd has developed steadily over the past two decades, and that the dynamic growth of Wuxi's biopharmaceutical industry has contributed to Siemens' optimism about its future development in Wuxi. Siemens Healthineers is committed to enhancing local research and development efforts and production in Wuxi, she added.

Zhou Wendong, vice-mayor of Wuxi, expressed hope that Siemens Healthineers will continue to promote localized production across its entire product line. He also encouraged the company to intensify its efforts in R&D to deliver more and better products to customers.
